Delmarva Now: Pemberton Coffeehouse owner files for Maryland House seat
Mimi Gedamu of Salisbury, co-owner of Pemberton Coffeehouse and a Republican, has filed for a District 37B seat in the House of Delegates.
The district includes portions of Wicomico and Dorchester counties and all of Talbot County and has two resident delegates, Chris Adams of Hebron and Johnny Mautz of St. Michaels.
Gedamu will face fellow Republicans Adams, Mautz and Keith Graffius of Taylors Island in the primary election. Democrat Dan O’Hare of Salisbury also has filed as a candidate in that district.
Gedamu said her priorities are bolstering sustainable economic development, promoting public safety and education and championing watermen and agribusiness interests.
Recently she delivered a talk on Bootstrap Economic Development at Maryland Federation of Republican Women’s Red Scarf Day in Annapolis. Her talk focused on how to create effective policy that promotes economic development rather than stifles it.
